Your memories are precious
It is as simple as that. As time goes on memories fade and we lose the ones closest to us till eventually all we have left is the pictures.
The longer the time passes those photos increase in their value to us so we do our best to keep them safe.
Sometimes as hard as we try our best to preserve them the photos start to degrade. Maybe they came to you in a degraded state in the first place.
That is where I come in.
Through my years as a photographer I have learnt the art of retouching. Now admittedly most of my work in that field usually is about fixing mistakes in photos but those skills that have taken years to hone also lend themselves to photo restoration.
How does it all work?
Well the first step is to use the contact form below and message me to talk about it and we will arrange for the photo to come to me.
Once I have the photo in my possession I will scan it into the computer using a high resolution scanner. This is now the original photo digitised. At this point I no longer need the original photo and it will be returned to you so you always have the option of traditional destructive restoration to the original photo.
Once the image is in the computer i use my retouching skills to hopefully bring back your photo to its former glory.
This is not always an easy task and can take days to get right so you may be thinking that will increase the price right?
Wrong! I have just one price for my photo restorations and that is £70 per photo regardless of how many days it takes to edit the photo.
The reason for this is I value keeping those memories alive and preserving the past just as much as you do! It's something that i would do for free if i could but i just can't.
What do i get if you can fix the image?
Well once i have finished the edit i will send you a watermarked version of the image so you can see that i have done the work that i say i have alongside an invoice for the charge. If you have ordered prints of the image then these will be sent to you by mail. If you have not ordered prints then upon payment the edited image will be sent to you digitally.
Can I get prints?
Yes of course we can discuss the cost of prints and sizes if you are wanting to have a print made of the photo.
What if the photo cant be fixed?
As much as I want to save the photos there will inevitably be some that are just too far gone. Sometimes I may ask if you have any others of the person in the photo that i can use to recreate the photo with but in honesty some pictures cannot be saved. If i cannot save the picture then you will not be charged for it.
